Requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma

Students in Grades 9 -12 are subject to the diploma requirements of the Ministry of Education, as
described in the section for these grades. More details can be found in Ontario Schools: Kindergarten to
Grade 12, Policy and Program Requirements, copies of which are available on the Ministry of Education
website at www.edu.gov.on.ca.

To earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a student enrolled at The Educators Academy
must:
Earn a minimum of 30 credits, including 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits;
Meet the provincial secondary school literacy requirement;
Complete 40 hours of community involvement activities.
